I have a distinct memory of being in a restaurant with someone close to me. Our relationship is ending. This is the final meal, an act of closure. There are tears. There are goodbyes and there are wish-you-wells. It feels like a moment that would etch itself deep into my brain.

Yet I can't remember if it actually happened, if my memory is reality or just a dream miscatalogued in my mind. The restaurant is a pastiche. The girl's name escapes me. Even her face has faded in my mind. She's vaporous.

Ideas and memories are even more ephemeral than the humans who create them. They are designed to be forgotten. Some stick around, but most disappear, to the recesses of our mind or beyond.

This is a catalogue of ideas from 2017 to 2020. The beauty of our digital society is how easily ideas can transcend their ephemeral nature and enter the vast domain of our shared consciousness. They are vaporous no more.

May these ideas reignite others thought forgotten and act as a flint for future memories.
